Washington Parish is committed to the safety of all who live, work, and travel within our borders and we will do our utmost to keep you and your family informed before, during, and after disaster situations.
We ask that you and your family develop a disaster plan for emergencies; natural or man-made. It's vital that these plans are developed beforehand and kept readily available for future use. You never know when emergencies will occur, but you can start preparing for them now. Planning ahead can save your life.
KEEP INFORMED, STAY SAFE, AND BE PREPARED!
Residents of Washington Parish are asked to participate in a survey about public perceptions and opinions regarding natural hazards in the parish. The survey results will be used in the development of the parishes hazard mitigation plan.
A hazard mitigation plan describes an area’s vulnerability to the various natural hazards that are typically present, along with an array of actions and projects for reducing key risks. While natural disasters cannot be prevented from occurring, the continued implementation of mitigation strategies identified in the plan will gradually, but steadily, make our communities more sustainable and disaster resilient.
